About Me

Louie has been a musician since age 6, taking classical piano lessons and upright bass lessons later at age 8. He was fortunate to be exposed to the symphonic orchestra world starting in middle school as a double bassist, eventually earning his place in Missouri All-State Orchestra for all four years of high school, as well as performing in the Kansas City Youth Symphony. Concurrent to this, he had quickly developed an affinity with electric guitar beginning at age 11, and drums at 13. 

In early teenage years, he realized he wasn’t just obsessed with music, but also sound recording. Writing original material with the intent to make it sound as professional as possible, he sought to invest into some dynamic microphones and a multitrack recorder. A relatively small purchase would have a life-changing impact, as he inevitably became enamored with the recording process as a result. 

This discovery of passion led him to eventually pursue audio engineering as a career, beginning with his completion of the Digital Media course at Summit Technology Academy while in high school, and thereafter earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Production from the McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN in 2014. Since graduating, he has enjoyed thriving in various audio-related roles such as studio intern, live sound engineer, online broadcast engineer, podcast producer, and studio engineer & producer.

Louie now enjoys a head engineering position at the Chapter 2 Recording Studio in Lenexa, Kansas in an accessible location off of I35. He seeks to help bands and artists of all genres thrive in a professional yet relaxed setting, with special emphasis on progressive rock and metal styles as are his roots. Most recently, Louie has taken a recording studio support staff position at the nearby Johnson County Community College, where he has had the opportunity to help students nurture their own passions and education for music technology and studio work.
